What else should I take to Costa Rica! Any advice?

I'm going to Costa Rica in a week! (June 21) We are mainly doing a lot of things back the way, hiking, zip lining, visiting volcanoes, etc see the waterfalls are not going to be in cities a lot. I wondered if there was anything I could not have thought about taking "I live in Arizona so the climate is very different here and I have a lot of things people recommend it as a jacket for rain (it never rains here lol!). I will be in Costa Rica for 9 days. Mainly, I know that jeans will not be very good for what we do because they dry very slowly. Rain jacket, sunscreen … basics. Anything else I should know? Any advice? Oh and I was also thinking about the humidity around this time of year! how bad is it really? I hate the humidity because it is very uncomfortable. In fact I have a friend who just arrived from Costa Rica and is the same way I am and told me not so bad? I was wondering ..

You will do most of those things in the morning before the rain. Rain usually starts at noon. The tours usually start 7-8am and lunchtime is doin, UNESS do a full day tour. I would not worry to buy / bring a lot of rain gear. You must have a decent rain jacket / windbreaker (nothing heavy) however. And a good umbrella. If you plan to do a lot of walking in the forest rain, sweat pants or wear jeans, shorts are not great because there are no errors and stuff. humidity varies depending on where it does. The middle zone and the Pacific (as Jaco / Quepos) are more humid. The central valley area and its costs are not bad. Suggestions: 1. Use common sense precautions regarding security. Do not flash money in public. Leave all jewelry at home. Do not take open drinks from strangers. Try to stay in a group, they will go "explore" itself. 2. Do not walk at night (applies more in cities than the forest) 3. Paid in colones, where prices are quoted in colones. The dollar payment is as saying "Rip me off please" LOL 4. Change of dollars in a bank or use ATMs to get colones. No change in airport "exchange world currency "windows, steal for about 10-15%. 5. Take care of your belongings, especially on buses, beach, restaurants, etc. Many of the burglaries and thefts (Working in teams, one distracting). Theft is the second national sport behind soccer. 6. You can take an unlocked GSM cell phone and buy a card Prepaid SIM at the airport (in the baggage claim area) to keep in touch and call the U.S. (About 30 ¢ per minute for outgoing calls and free USA incoming). Buy a ¢ 10,000 (~ $ 19) SIM and will last the entire trip. The phone should work on the 1800Mhz GSM band. 7. Learn some Spanish words before trip. At least learn the greetings, and perhaps the numbers that can effectively bargain prices. LOL

AIMS (Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards) test mistake?

So this morning i took the AIMS writing test and the prompt was something like…
Do you agree that technology has improved your life.
I wasnt sure how to answer
because thats a stupid question!
the people taking them are sophomores. 15-16 year olds we were BORN into technology, we dont know anything else
… and like we have to pass the aims to graduate
Ughh, is there a way i can complain to the state for distributing such a stupid test?
please/thanks

I don’t think you could complain about it. We might have been born into it, but the preface to the question discussed the advancement of technology. It requires making an assumption and making a prediction about technology. I do think that there aren’t many examples to draw from since we’re so young, but I had no trouble writing and I filled the 2 pages.
My thesis was that technology detracted from my life, as I spend more time and resources helping improve technology rather than having technology improve my life.
